July 7 and 8 Walmart will hold an Open Call/ U.S. Manufacturing Summit. They are seeking companies that will produce and supply more consumer products in the US. These suppliers will thus help Walmart achieve its commitment to increase annual purchases of Made in USA products by $50 billion/year by 2022. Achievement of this goal will increase U.S. employment by about 300,000 manufacturing jobs, making Walmart’s efforts the largest corporate reshoring program.
