AWPA Hits Capitol Hill to Support ENFORCE.
On Tuesday, June 2 AWPA held a Wire & Wire Products Caucus Briefing and Congressional Visits to lobby for the inclusion of the ENFORCE provision in upcoming trade legislation passed by the Senate and now under consideration in the House. AWPA members held an educational breakfast briefing for Congressional staffers that included an update on the current state of the legislation from Brian Diffell of the Washington Tax & Public Policy Group, a presentation from Alan Logan of Vulcan Threaded Products about Vulcan’s experience attempting to fight transshipment, and finally an explanation of what ENFORCE does and why it is necessary from Amy DeArmond from Leggett & Platt. After a briefing lunch held by the National Association of Manufacturers, AWPA members hit the Hill to advocate for inclusion of ENFORCE with the upcoming trade legislation. AWPA will keep you informed of developments as this important legislation moves through Congress.
