On February 24th, the President signed the Trade Facilitation and Trade Enforcement Act of 2015, commonly known as the Customs Reauthorization bill, into law. This bill includes the language of the ENFORCE Act, which was written by a number of AWPA member companies which formed a coalition to address the problem of the evasion of antidumping and countervailing duty orders. AWPA very actively lobbied Congress and promoted the legislation, along with others in the steel industry and other industries. The legislation will strengthen trade enforcement at US ports and borders, and update management of US Customs and Border Protection. Thank you to all who have worked to advocate for this important legislation.
