At this year’s Government Affairs Conference, the AWPA presented awards to several legislators who were instrumental in moving the ENFORCE Act through Congress this year, as part of the Customs Reauthorization bill. It was signed by President Obama on February 24. Here are some photos of the awards we were able to present in person.
AWPA Members with facilities in Rep. Jason Smith’s district present him with a plaque for his assistance and support of the ENFORCE Act. Rep. Smith is a member of the US House Wire & Wire Products Caucus.
AWPA Members also recognized Senator Ron Wyden for his support of ENFORCE.
Milton Magnus, III, AWPA President, and Amy DeArmond from Leggett & Platt met with Rep. Billy Long, a long-time member and supporter of the US House Wire & Wire Product Caucus, and thanked him for his support of ENFORCE.
AWPA Members present an award to Senator Roy Blunt for his efforts in passing the ENFORCE Act.
The next step for ENFORCE is implementation. AWPA and other manufacturing groups are already working with Customs and the Administration to ensure full and timely implementation of this important law.
