PRO Act Moves to the Senate – Act Now!
On Wednesday the US House of Representatives passed the PRO Act with a vote of 225 to 206. It now moves to the Senate, as bill S420. Currently there is no Senate vote scheduled. The next step toward passage may be a hearing in the Senate Health, Employment, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee. If this bill will affect your company, the most impactful action you can take is to call your Senators and ask for their commitment to oppose this bill. You can get contact information for your Senators here: https://www.senate.gov/senators/senators-contact.htm
Using the contact form on the web page of your Senator is another option.
Specifically, 5 democratic Senators have not signed on as sponsors of the Senate bill: Senators Kelly (AZ), King (ME), Manchin (WV), Sinema (AZ) and Warner (VA). If you are a constituent of these Senators, or have facilities in these states, please make a point of contacting them and registering your position.

The bill seems unlikely to pass in the Senate, as long as the filibuster remains intact. AWPA will continue to monitor the issue, and we encourage you to contact your Senators and ask them to oppose this bill.
