As the November elections approach, Members of the Senate and House will be spending more time meeting with constituents in their states and districts. Notably, Congress will only be in session in Washington for about a dozen days between early August and Election Day (November 5). So for those wanting to build relationships with your elected representatives, now is a great time to invite them to visit your facilities, tour your operations, and meet with your teams!
We are happy to help put you in touch with the appropriate staffers to make your requests and we can also help you prepare for the visits! To get a sense of how such a visit might be structured and how companies can best utilize this valuable one-on-one time with their elected representatives, please see AWPA’s “Tips for Tours.”
Additionally, don’t be discouraged if the Member is not immediately available; sometimes a visit from their staff can be effective, as well, strengthening your relationship with the office and laying the groundwork for a future visit from the Member. Let us know how we can help!
