From Fred Waite and Kim Young, AWPA Counsel
Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) published its preliminary results in the administrative review of the antidumping (AD) order on carbon and certain alloy steel wire rod from Mexico. The review covers several Mexican producers / exporters during the period from October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022.
The DOC has calculated a preliminary weighted-average dumping margin of 0.00% for ArcelorMittal Mexico S.A. de C.V. and 0.70% for Deacero S.A.P.I. de C.V. / Deacero USA, Inc. – the two mandatory respondents.
In addition, the DOC has assigned a preliminary dumping margin of 0.70% to three other companies which are subject to this review but are not being individually examined. They are: Grupo Villacero S.A. de C.V.; Talleres y Aceros S.A. de C.V.; and Ternium Mexico S.A. de C.V.
The DOC plans to complete this review by March 2024. The current dumping duty deposit rates for these companies will remain in effect until the DOC’s final results are published in the Federal Register.
